Al Michaels expresses frustration over the numerous penalties in the Cowboys vs. Giants game, remarking, "It feels like June 14th."

Veteran broadcaster Al Michaels openly expressed his frustration during the sluggish first half of the Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants "Thursday Night Football" matchup. He particularly criticized the number of penalties enforced by Clay Martin’s officiating crew, noting that the two teams collectively committed 12 infractions, with even more flags being thrown and then picked up throughout the half. By the two-minute warning, Michaels was joking with color commentator Kirk Herbstreit about the excessive penalties, quipping, "It looks like June 14th, otherwise known as Flag Day."

As the game progressed, Michaels' enthusiasm waned. Initially excited by a Giants player's offside, he became increasingly exasperated as additional penalties were called. At one point, he remarked sarcastically about the high number of flags, saying, "No more laundry left," and later joked that the Cowboys’ false start was the "147th" penalty of the half, prompting laughter from Herbstreit. When asked if he had ever seen so many penalties in a half, Michaels speculated it might be a record for him. He continued to lament the game’s officiating, surprised that the first penalty of the second half didn't occur until the 5:20 mark, and noted the Giants had only four penalties early in the fourth quarter.
