Russia has condemned the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, attributing responsibility for the escalating tensions to Israel.

The Russian Foreign Ministry warned that this act could lead to severe repercussions for both Lebanon and the broader Middle East, urging Israel to halt its military actions. 

“We denounce this political assassination by Israel,” the Ministry stated, emphasizing the potential for increased violence and instability. They noted that Israel was aware of the risks but chose to proceed, thereby incurring responsibility for the escalation. 

In light of these events, the Ministry called for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further bloodshed and facilitate a diplomatic resolution, stressing the need for the international community to act responsibly to avoid a larger conflict.
