This year has seen the Brazilian involved in a number of faux paus which haven't been well received by those at the club and its fans.

Building up to the Champions League final, Rodrygo appeared to flirt with a potential move away from Los Blancos in an interview with DAZN, and then called continental rival Manchester City the "best team in the world" during another for GQ Espana.

That double controversy fell by the wayside, as Madrid clinched a record-extending 15th UCL crown at Wembley through beating Borussia Dortmund.

Batting off interest from City according to AS, Rodrygo started 2024/2025 well by netting his side's opening goal in a 1-1 draw Mallorca, but he then put his foot in it once more.

Reacting to the draw, and a trident of Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. being called 'BMV' by the press, Rodrygo argued his own case in a

Call him what you want, but Rodrygo next year is not at Madrid," Uria reiterated. "In football he has an alibi because he has quality. But for him, recognition is important. For Rodrygo it is a blow to be taken out of the BMV."

As things stand, Rodrygo might not be included in the acronym yet he is still involved in head coach Carlo Ancelotti's plans.

With Bellingham deeper than he was last season, Madrid's attack basically sees Rodrygo, Mbappe and Vinicius manning the attacking line in a trio.
