Kylian Mbappe is indeed injured and the cause of the injury.

Kylian Mbappe is indeed injured. He suffered a muscle injury in the biceps femoris of his left leg during Real Madrid's match against Alavés. After undergoing medical tests, including an MRI, his estimated recovery time is around three weeks ¹. This means he'll miss some crucial matches, including the Madrid derby against Atlético de Madrid, the Champions League match against Lille, and the LaLiga game against Villarreal. He'll also be unavailable for France's matches during the October window for the Nations League ¹.

Mbappe's target return date is October 19, when Real Madrid visits Celta de Vigo, just before the Spanish football clásico against Barcelona ¹. Coach Carlo Ancelotti had initially thought Mbappe's issue was just a minor tightness, but unfortunately, it turned out to be more serious ¹. On the bright side, Eduardo Camavinga is expected to rejoin group training soon, after recovering from a knee sprain ¹.
