Ronaldo wears million dollars boots to play.

Designed to his exact specifications for Nike’s star player, Cristiano Ronaldo, the CR7 football boots are currently the Mercurial Superfly 9, designed by the swoosh with a football specific Zoom Air unit and a grippy texture on the upper. Ronaldo usually wears Nike latest boots or his own signature editions, which have lately been the Mercurial Dream Speed.

Nike released the original MDS, for Ronaldo & Mbappe, they were marketed as design to Ronaldo’s exact specifications. Surprisingly Ronaldo was never to seen to wear the red MDS 007 Superfly and when he received the Mad Ready white Superfly, he shocked everyone by cutting the collar on the boots.

For the seventh release of the series that started as an exclusive one for him, Mbappe and Kerr, the boot took a page from CR7’s prime days in Manchester United in 2008/09. Given the colour provided for the MDS 007, it was easy to spot the influence of the Red Devil’s home shirt as well as the Mercurial Vapor IV he wore that season.

Cristiano was mad ready to begin 2023/24, wearing the brand’s season-opening white with red and black Mercurial Superfly 9. The Ready colourway arguably had some similarity to the launch ‘Disruption’ colourway given the white base and red accents.

The man that started it all for the Superfly line in the Mercurial joined a select few in wearing the commemorative XXV Pack, wearing of course the Superfly 9 of the collection. The Mercurial’s longevity as represented by the silver colourway (perfect theme for the silo’s 25th anniversary) was also a good imagery of CR7’s own longevity in the sport. The Hyper Pink on the Swoosh also brought to memory some of Ronaldo’s iconic pink releases for the Mercurial Superfly.
